Try drawing from direct observation, not photographs. It makes the work harder, but you'll see more depth in your portraits. If the work is about a loved one, try maybe drawing another member in your family or another person who holds similar traits to your grandmother. If you want to pursue drawing musicians go to a musical event, which occur all the time in the tricities, and draw them as they are setting up or playing. They might not be famous but they are producing great music all the same.
Other parts of your art will benefit from drawing from direct observation. Your compositional skills will increase because you will not be confined by the limits of a photo. You're color will also probably become more vibrant as well. I loved the landscape of the sky with the trees on the lower edge. It has nice, lively colors to it. Some of your other work gets dragged down because of the muddy colors.
Good luck on the comic. Try getting models to pose for the characters, so you can make sure the anatomy is right. You've got a great start with your artistic life, continue pursuing it.
Hey, the website is great! It's awesome that you went to all this work to share your art with the world. I knew you had motivation in there ;) And I will agree with a previous posting that, while Jenny's work looks great on the site, it is much more appreciated in person. Keep it up!
Love your work. I will be contacting you in the future to do some custom work for me but for now i would like some prices on the work you have in your gallery.
I have veiwed your website and am very impressed thinking of my wife and what to get her this christmas you have inspired me. after not knowing what to get her i have decided that i would like you to do a portrait of me and my family i think it would be a great christmas present for a woman that has everything. i will also pay extra to have you get it framed. hope to hear from you soon.
I was able to see your other pictures today. I can see you like to work with different kinds of subjects. Keep up the good work.
Regards, William

hi there jennifer, thank-you for inviting me to look at your artwork---fantastic!!! work from a young 17 year old. i know that you will achieve the goals you have set for yourself. I especially liked your lenny kravitts drawing because you captured the light very well!!! i felt the movement of music as well as lenny. i also liked mother love, you did well with expression of tenderness between mother and cub. i also liked your monarch butterfly you left no space undone, great colors. you definetly do well with portraits as long as you leave no space unused as i believe you capture the fullness of your character. the only picture that stands out in my mind that is not your best cr is the one of the wolf and trees in the background, i do not think landscapes is your forte' at this time. i feel in time if you study the rivers, mountains etc. you will get better. I also liked your bust. i feel if you can get to a beach to do some sculping in the sand or possibly you can find a park that h
Hi, My name is Phil. Just wanted to write ya, and tell you that I liked the paintings. Do you got any white tigers with blue eyes, and laying in a field looking through grass reeds? If so E-mail me back. Good work, Phil
Hi Jennifer, Viewed your website, very nice. The Gallery of your art is good, but doesn't really do it justice after seeing them in person. Keep up the good work.
I just looked at your site and all were generally quite well done...face portraits are not bad ...My favorites that caught my eye.....were Ray charles....kravitz.....jazz band....sleeping fairy and sound girl... you seem to do scratch board and oil colours VERY well. The wildlife scnenes are alright ..I am not a fan of them....(any wildlife in general) but the eye of the tiger i would want on my wall ...I am also a husky pictures fan...
