Frequently Asked Questions

As always, I love getting all your messages and if you’ve emailed me in the past you know I try and hit you back as promptly as possible. Unfortunately, I don’t have a great amount of time anymore, my schedule just gets more and more demanding everyday and with every new project I take on. So, I’ve put together some of the more popular questions with my personal responses right here for you. Of course if your question isn’t answered below feel free to e-mail me and I’d me more than happy to answer it!

Can you come and do our show?

Absolutely, I’m always looking for more shows, competitions and entry opportunities… if you have a show or know of one send me a message and I’d be happy to partake!

Do you sell your originals?

No, the work that you see online is just an example. If you do wish to purchase something you’ve seen on the website, I’ll send a print of it usually in whatever size you want. Prints are just a fancy more expensive poster, that lasts longer, is less messy, and replaceable.

Why hasn’t there been any new work lately?

I’m busy, I do have more work but a lot of it is custom projects for people and I generally don’t put that online. As of right now, I’m also the only one running the website, email, and myspace along with all the other work so I’m doing what I can.

Do you put commissioned work on line?

Not unless you ask me to.

How do you price?

Very reasonably! If you purchase a print of one of my originals it depends on the size and it’s basically what I have to spend to print it off, but if it’s a commissioned thing there are many factors like the amount of people, the size, how long it takes me, if you want it framed but I am a very easy going negotiator! And MUCH cheaper than the completion!

Do you take commissions?

Oh yea, That’s a third of my business! There are sometimes when I’m too busy to do it but I usually put notices up somewhere on the website saying I’ve taken a break from it. But those breaks are never 100%…. I need the money!

Are you looking for collaborators?

As far as partnering up for projects with writers i'm all for it contact me, but if you mean do i need somebody to ink pages for the comic book or something- No, I’m way too picky about my own work I don’t need to be worrying about someone else’s half. Sorry.

What’s your daily schedule

Ugh, wake up about 6 to listen to Bob and Tom, work out to get all my wiggles out of me, try and find a lunch break then I work until I get sleepy usually wind up like this…

What’s it take to make it as an artist?

When I make it… I’ll let you know!

What tools do you use to draw?

Mainly Ticonderoga Pencils, see how high maintenance I am? I only use special stuff like pastels and whatnot when I need something to fly off the paper.

How do you draw?

Uhh well, I stick a pencil in my right hand and go from there. I always have some sort of a reference (ALWAYS USE A REFERENCE!!!) and I always have music blaring. No matter what I’m drawing I start out with a penciled outline whether it’s for the comic book or something for an art show. Then from there it’s just like a coloring book and I don’t have to make any more mistakes then I already do.

Do you do any other type of artwork besides portraits?

YUP, I’m fairly deep into a project I’m doing with my old high school English teacher. It’s a comic book called, Unearthly Covenant. I’ve been developing a project loosely titled Puppy Dog Tales, Sometimes I do posters, (I.e. Edward Scissorhands and Drew Hastings). I have various other comic strip projects in the works along with animation proposals and well pretty much everything!

where can I see your stuff?

Your best bet would be on the website. Because when I enter a show it’s always some frantic race to get everything done and by the time I think about putting some sort of notice or bulletin on line the shows already done with.

Where else can i contact you?

Myspace! Yet another thing i check religiously like my email.
